Potatoes with bay leaves

(Recipe #8, page 68)

Wash the potatoes thoroughly, set them on the stove not quite covered with water, immediately add any needed salt, butter or good pan drippings, sliced onions, pepper, and a few bay leaves, and boil until the potatoes fall apart. Stir in a little vinegar and serve the potatoes cooked not too dry.

Cooking time as above.
